Utah Tar Sands Resistance is a grassroots organization of people determined to prevent the commercial development of tar sands and oil shale mining in Utah, and the Colorado Plateau region. They are focussing on the areas around the tavaputs plateau where tar sands and oil shale deposits exist for strip mining. This includes Uintah, Duchesne and Grand county and Salt Lake County as a location where tar sands are refined. |
